Medcoach Advantage
Why did Medical Coaches choose to utilize the PIWS-3000 System for mobile medical waste processing?
Medical Coaches Inc. spent over a decade searching for the best medical waste processing technology to install on our mobile units. We worked with liquid chemicals, sterilizers, autoclave and gaseous treatment systems. All systems turned out to be consistent disappointments until we found the PIWS Medical Waste Processing System.
Our criteria for an acceptable system were simple:
High thru-put - we knew that a 2,000 lbs./907 kg per hour processing speed was absolutely necessary for profitable and versatile operation.
Rugged grinding capability - able to handle all forms of medical waste from blankets to sharps.
Size of waste reduced at least 80 percent - most treated waste reduced to confetti.
All machinery and equipment must fit in a road legal mobile unit - in order to allow delivery of medical waste processing services directly to hospitals, the system must be easy to move from site to site.
Utilize an environmentally friendly chemical - no dangerous or restrictive chemical can be used and no dangerous fumes or liquids can be dispensed into the environment after processing.
Be fully tested for operational reliability and compliance - with existing medical waste processing regulations, tests must be carried out by professional, independent, certified personnel.
Manufactured by a reliable, financially stable company - we had seen too many under-funded start-up companies fail due to poor management and inadequate funding.
We finally found the ideal processing system at Positive Impact Waste Systems (PIWS) in Odessa, Texas. Medical Coaches was very involved with the design of the early prototype of this system, but it was never developed into a market-ready product as the inventor was severely under funded.
PIWS purchased the technology, spent substantial time and money re-designing, testing, developing and refining the entire system. The final PIWS-3000 medical waste processing product is now ready for commercial release. The PIWS-3000 meets all eight of our acceptable criteria.
PIWS currently operates a number of mobile medical waste treatment systems on Texas hospital routes and the system was tested successfully at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Medical Coaches has invested in PIWS and is one of three principal owners. Units are also available for fixed-site service. A smaller, lower-volume, lower-cost fixed-site unit will be available in late 2008.
We invite any interested customers to look at the PIWS-3000 Medical Waste System and see why we are so excited about this revolutionary product.
