March 25, 2009: Medical Coaches recently delivered a brand new Siemens Biograph PET/CT trailer to Radiology & Imaging Specialists (RIS) of Lakeland, Florida. R.I.S has provided imaging services for more than 30 years with approximately 20 physicians and four imaging centers. This coach will bring the latest in advanced cancer screening to their various locations.

Here are some facts and figures on the re-designed Medical Coaches, Siemens Biograph, 6-Slice PET/CT Mobile:

The new Siemens Biograph PET/CT mobile has been completely certified for fixed site standards.

Recent changes on the coach include a new computer storage rack to reduce shock and vibration, free up floor space and have easier access to equipment.

The PET/CT table has been outfitted with a one-button, return- to- home positioning motion and auto-lockdown.

The new gantry has been hardened with secure brackets designed for the demanding mobile environment.

Special new computer hardening, including secure internal circuit boards with new hard-mounted cooling fans, improves overall reliability during transfer.

The PET/CT system is a completely integrated, closed-loop cooling system with no external chiller requirements.

A new auto-leveling feature allows for easier and quicker leveling, provides instant levelness feedback to the operator, and guarantees the trailer is leveled within specifications every time.

The new lift gate is certified to FMVSS 403 and 404 standards. Some of the new features include: safety interlock on the handrails; interlock to prevent trailer from moving when iift is not properly stowed; interlocks on patient door to prevent lift from operating when door is open; and a non-skid surface on lift platform.

A new ceramic roof coating is now added. It reflects up to 99 percent of the radiant energy allowing for more comfortable control over interior trailer temperature; it provides additional roof seal for leaks and damage from tree branches and limbs; and provides additional insulation.

Medical Coaches was selected by Siemens to design, build and perform certification tests on this revolutionary new PET/CT system.
